Rosie is a soprano from Blenheim and attends Marlborough Girl’s College as a highly musical and academic student. She is the soprano section leader of MGC’s elite choir, Ovation, the Official Anthem Singer for the Marlborough District Council, and was named Most Outstanding Vocalist at school and at the Marlborough Performing Arts Competitions last year. She is over the moon to be a part of the NZSSC and hopes to expand her knowledge and experience over the next two years.
This is Katia, a soprano which is currently based in Wellington. She attends Wellington East Girls College and is very musically involved there. She sings in multiple choirs and aside from singing also plays the oboe and piano. Her other interests include tramping and dancing. This is her first time in NZSSC and is the youngest member in the choir.
Richard was a founding member of the NZ Youth Choir and has also sung in the NZ Opera Chorus, Viva Voce, and Auckland Choral; initially as a B2 but latterly as a B1. He took degrees in chemistry (Auckland) and history of science (Princeton) and now is General Manager of the University of Auckland Foundation and its endowment fund. He also chairs the board governing the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium (aka “Stardome”).
